Located in a beautiful, untouched natural area, the Lantz Museum is excited to present Christopher Lantz’s children’s book, “The Unfinished Symphony: The Odyssey of Three Creatures in Search of a Natural World,” with illustrations by Val M. Cox. This book is the first of three planned releases that show the museum’s effort to share stories that deeply connect with nature and the historic lands of the First People.
Set in the peaceful and inspiring surroundings of the museum, “The Unfinished Symphony” takes young readers on an adventure through a world where magic feels real. The story is about a young boy and his two magical friends—a Bison named Buffler and a Kangaroo—as they journey through a world filled with natural wonders and exciting discoveries.
Val M. Cox’s colorful illustrations make the story come alive, reflecting the museum’s goal to help people enjoy art and nature. Each ‘Symphony’ in the book looks at different aspects of the natural world, helping young readers understand and appreciate the need to take care of our environment.
About the Author:
Dr. Christopher Lantz is the author of the book “The Unfinished Symphony.” He wrote it believing that children’s books can also be for adults and that they can share deep truths about remarkable places like the House of Symphonies in New Mexico, where 49 symphonies are played. Dr. Lantz built this unique house himself over three years, showing that everyone has the ability to create and experience their own art and music.
Dr. Lantz is not just a writer; he has a Ph.D. in Acoustical Physics and a degree in Musical Arts from Stanford University. He has spent over twenty years composing and conducting music in the United States and Europe. Besides music, Dr. Lantz is also involved in the visual arts, creating paintings that add another layer to his artistic contributions.
